Quality Reports To:
Chief Executive Officer Vice President of Quality Position Purpose and Objectives Oversees the operations of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Departments. Is responsible for ensuring cGMP and Food Safety compliance within the Company. Vice President of Quality Essential Job Functions Directs All Quality Operations and assumes responsibility for all Quality related matters. Provides guidance and works with various Departments in maintaining cGMP compliance and Food Safety within the Company. Reviews and approves SOP's, investigations, protocols, test methods, laboratory reports, and other Quality related documents as necessary. Manages Quality supervisors and Managers and prepares performance evaluations as required. Conducts Internal and External Quality audits as required. Qualified in HACCP and
FDA 21 CFR
Part 111 HARPC Hosts third party GMP certification audits and ensures appropriate corrective actions are conducted. Serves as the contact person and hosts any regulatory agency audits and inspections and provides guidance in responding to any regulatory agency questions or observations. Serves as liaison between Manufacturing and Product Development as required to review results of product testing and to troubleshoot production problems. Evaluates and recommends new testing equipment to support laboratory needs and requirements. Vice President of Quality Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Experience managing technical services and staff. Demonstrated knowledge of current GMP and Food Safety requirements and regulations. Supervisory Responsibility Directly supervises QA/QC Managers and Supervisors and support staff as required. Company:
Frequent interface with Operations, Product Development, Technical Services, and QA/QC management to discuss Quality related items. Frequent interface with Marketing, and Sales. Outside the
Company:
Frequent interface with contract laboratories, vendors, consultants, and professional societies. Occasional interface with customers. Minimum Qualifications
  • College Degree in physical science or related discipline.
  • Ten to Fifteen years previous Quality Management experience.
  • Experience with QC laboratory operations.
  • Experience with GMPs in a regulated environment.
  • Expertise in Dietary Supplements and/or Food/Pharmaceutical Science

    • Internal auditor trained
    • Working knowledge of Preventative Controls as related to Dietary Supplements Success Factors Strong Leadership skills.
