Job Description

Quality Assurance Director Consumer Electronics Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Quality Assurance to lead our quality efforts within the consumer electronics category . The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of product development, regulatory compliance, manufacturing processes, and customer satisfaction specific to electronic products. This role will be responsible for building and executing the QA strategy across global supply chains, from product concept through mass production and post-market support.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy for electronic products, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Lead and mentor a global QA team including quality engineers, inspectors, and compliance specialists.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality into every stage of product development and lifecycle.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Coordinate quality assurance and quality control functions.
  • Coordinator of products being tested
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance and manage audits and inspections from third-party or regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee supplier quality assurance processes, including supplier audits, scorecards, and corrective actions.
  • Define and enforce quality standards for design verification, product validation, functional testing, and reliability testing.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for product issues or failures.
  • Monitor product performance in the field and lead continuous improvement initiatives based on customer feedback, product returns, and other market data.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation including SOPs, work instructions, specifications, and inspection plans.
  • Provide reports to senior leadership on quality KPIs, trends, and risk assessments.
  • Introduce new QA tools and digital transformation initiatives to enhance quality efficiency and traceability.
  • Evaluate and implement best practices in quality management specific to fast-paced electronics environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical / electronic engineering, quality assurance, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in quality assurance within the consumer electronics industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits, schematic interpretation, and PCB layout principles; and hands-on experience with electrical/electronic test equipment. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (SMT, PCBA, injection molding, etc.) and electronics reliability standards. Knowledge of wireless hardware, IoT devices, and lithium-ion battery management preferred. Experience with global supply chains and overseas manufacturing (especially in Asia). Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and product compliance (UL, CE, FCC, etc.). Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, or ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
