Job Description

OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an Assistant Quality Manager for the Brent Spence Bridge project in Cincinnati, OH. The Assistant Quality Manager (AQM) works in conjunction with the Quality Manager (QM) on implementation, improvement and execution of the Quality management system (QMS) and project specific requirements. If the project does not have a QM, the AQM may assume the duties of the project's Quality Champion as stated in the QM's role. RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for day-to-day or task specific quality management of a project such as capturing, documenting, publishing and tracking tests, inspections, submittals and procedures for project compliance Conducts work planning development, pre-activity meetings, initial meetings, TQAs, submittals, material management, inspections and follow-up. Responsible for providing project management team with documentation requirements through preparing and distributing project reports, inspection reports, submittals, redline as-builts, RFIs and close-out documents. Participates in project reporting and job control activities to ensure compliance with contract. Provides project management team with schedule and subcontractor oversight. May track quantities for self-performed work activities and/or subcontractors. Supports and makes recommendations to the QCM concerning material management from submittal, delivered material review, storage & handling verifications and material certification review. Creates and implements project specific inspection and test plans, quality control plans and other procedures as necessary. Provides the project team with material specification review such as concrete mix design, thermal control and other quality specialized elements. Writes, follows-up and shares lessons learned through QIRs. Utilizes quality and risk management to provide cost reduction strategies for the project team through proactive quality approach and lesson sharing to improve efficiency and reduce rework. Provides Project Manager and Quality Manager with issue resolution, owner meetings, subcontractor coordination and field management. Where necessary, schedules inspection of the works with coordination between operations, consultants, testing laboratories and the Client.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent related field experience
USACE/NAVFAC/NRC
Construction Quality Management certification preferred but not required. Industry certifications for testing and inspection as required to perform job duties Minimum 5 years of experience in an applicable AEC field. Good communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time. Knowledge of standards, specifications and publications of job-related duties. Limited travel for projects as necessary The Walsh Group, Ltd.
