Director of Quality Confidential Cleveland, OH 44125 From $100,000 a year - Full-time From $100,000 a year - Full-time Overview An aerospace manufacturing organization is seeking a Director of Quality to lead quality execution, compliance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing and supplier operations. This role is responsible for maintaining an effective Quality Management System, ensuring delivery of conforming products, and supporting operational performance in a highly regulated environment. The Director of Quality is a member of the operations leadership team and has authority to stop production or shipment when product conformity, safety, or regulatory compliance is at risk. Key Responsibilities Lead and continuously improve an AS9100‑compliant Quality Management System. Ensure compliance with applicable industry certifications, customer, and regulatory requirements. Maintain audit readiness and lead external and internal audits and corrective actions. Support daily production operations, nonconformance containment, and on‑time delivery. Drive measurable improvement in quality metrics such as yield, scrap, defect rates, and audit findings. Lead supplier quality activities, including requirement flowdown and performance improvement. Serve as the primary quality interface for customers and external stakeholders. Oversee part approval, First Article Inspection, configuration, and change control processes. Lead, develop, and coach quality teams while promoting a strong, prevention‑based quality culture. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive quality experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment, including leadership responsibility. Experience working within
AS9100/ISO 9001
certified organizations and supporting audits and corrective actions. Strong knowledge of nonconformance management, corrective action, and supplier quality. Ability to lead in a fast‑paced production environment while maintaining high quality standards. Preferred Experience supporting complex aerospace manufacturing operations or Tier‑1 suppliers. Familiarity with customer‑specific quality requirements and special processes. Professional quality certification (ASQ or equivalent).
