Job Description

Japanese manufacturing company (Auto Tier-1 Supplier) is seeking a Quality Assistant Manager in Fredericktown, OH!
STRATEGIC SUMMARY
Plans and directs activities concerned with the development, application and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials and products. Develop, implement and manage quality assurance systems designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals. Provide direction to all internal and external parties involved in new model development activities helping them to remain in focus and achieve established end points on time. Provide leadership and support to associates assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring & training of associates, assigning and directing work: appraising performance and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
TACTICAL SUMMARY
Accomplishes departmental goals by communicating job expectations; planning monitoring, and appraising job results; coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives. Serve as lead quality control and assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement. Assist department manager in maintaining the "gage" confirmation program, distribution of all measuring equipment as well as calibration requirements. Develop initial QAV schedules, maintain related activities. Function as an information source, "window person" for the company when critical issues arise. Facilitate interdepartmental meetings to establish activities in response to customer quality issues as well as high rank internal quality issues. Oversee the design and implement documented procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection. Lead investigations and determine cause of non-conformance work and oversee the development of proper counter-measures. Follow-up on and closing pending preventative and correction action requests.
Develop quality documents:
FMEA, PQCT, Inspection Standards, Check Sheets, etc. Lead efforts to educate and instruct plant associates in recommended quality assurance standards, testing and checks. Confirm these procedures are being maintained. Initiate and control both internal and external change point control for customer & suppliers, IPP Tags, IPPAARs, etc. Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and
ISO 9001.
Responsible for new supplier approvals. Transfer learning across teams and business. Promote quality at the source utilizing available resources, operators, & operating standards.
Involved in personnel actions:
promotions, discipline, terminations, etc. Provides leadership and support to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) and increase your associates skills and capabilities. All other duties as assigned.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Education Associate Degree or any combination of equivalent experience and education 2. Experience Minimum of 4 years related work experience 3. Computer Skills Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint Plex 4. Personal/Other Skills Oral and written communication skills, decent interpersonal & negotiating skills as well as organizational abilities. Some process knowledge of the manufacturing areas covered. Some knowledge of the materials, i.e.: production/quality/reporting forms, visual boards, pull card system, etc. Effective facilitation and coach skills. Positive attitude and approach in a changing environment. Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment. 5. Travel Requirement Some travel required.
