Job Description

Black Mamba Rod Lift is a growing manufacturing company serving the oil and gas industry. Our operations include plastic injection molding, CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, material management, and inventory control. We are looking for a hands-on Quality Manager to take ownership of quality across our manufacturing operations, from incoming raw materials through production, final inspection, and shipment. This is a leadership position for someone who understands that quality is not simply an inspection function. Quality starts with the material, the process, the people, and the systems used to control them. Position Summary The Quality Manager will develop, implement, and maintain quality systems that ensure our products consistently meet engineering specifications and customer requirements. This person will work directly with production, machining, injection molding, purchasing, inventory, engineering, and management to identify problems, establish effective controls, and drive permanent corrective actions. We are looking for someone who is willing to get out on the floor, investigate issues, and work with the team to fix them—not simply identify defects after the fact. Key Responsibilities Quality Systems & Process Control Own and lead the company's quality program across all manufacturing operations. Establish and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria. Ensure products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Develop process controls and inspection methods for injection molding, CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, and other manufacturing processes. Monitor quality KPIs, scrap, rework, returns, and nonconformance trends. Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions, verifying that solutions are effective. Maintain accurate quality records and conduct internal audits and process reviews. Work with engineering and production to improve manufacturability, consistency, and process reliability. Material & Inventory Control Establish controls for incoming steel, plastics, components, and other raw materials. Verify material certifications, specifications, identification, and traceability. Maintain material and product traceability where required. Work with purchasing and inventory to investigate discrepancies and prevent the use of incorrect, damaged, expired, or unapproved materials. Establish and maintain procedures for identifying, segregating, and quarantining nonconforming material. Work with suppliers to resolve material and quality issues. Nonconforming Product & Stop-Work Authority The Quality Manager will have clear Stop-Work Authority when a quality issue, material discrepancy, or process deviation could result in nonconforming product. This includes the authority to stop an affected operation, place material or product on hold, determine the scope of potentially affected product, coordinate disposition, and release production once appropriate corrective actions and controls are in place. The expectation is not to stop production unnecessarily—it is to protect the customer and the company when quality is at risk. Cross-Functional Leadership Work closely with production, engineering, purchasing, inventory, shipping, and management. Communicate effectively with everyone from machine operators to company leadership. Train and support employees in quality procedures and inspection requirements. Build a culture of accountability where quality problems are identified and corrected at the source. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing quality professional who understands how things are actually made and can build practical systems that work on the production floor.
Required / Preferred
Experience 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience preferred. Experience with CNC machining, dimensional inspection, and reading engineering drawings. Knowledge of steel, plastics, machined components, and material specifications. Experience with material traceability, inventory control, and supplier quality. Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Experience with nonconformance, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement. Strong organizational, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work directly on the manufacturing floor and collaborate across departments. Strong computer skills and ability to learn and maintain quality and inventory systems. Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus Oil and gas manufacturing experience. Experience implementing or improving ERP/MRP quality or inventory systems. What Success Looks Like Within the first year, the successful candidate will help establish a quality system that delivers reliable material traceability, consistent inspection processes, effective control of nonconforming product, and measurable quality KPIs. Success will be reflected in reduced scrap and rework, faster resolution of quality problems, stronger supplier quality, better documentation, and greater accountability throughout manufacturing. Most importantly, the Quality Manager will help build a culture where we don't accept "that's just how we've always done it." Compensation $85,000 annual salary Additional benefits and compensation details will be discussed during the interview process. How to Apply If you are an experienced manufacturing quality professional who enjoys solving problems, working with production teams, and building systems that make manufacturing better, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a brief description of your manufacturing quality experience.
