Job Description

Overview We are looking for a Quality Control Manager to oversee quality assurance and compliance on underground utility construction projects. This role ensures all field activities meet project specifications, regulatory standards, and quality expectations through inspections, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement quality control procedures, inspection checklists, and testing protocols Perform regular field inspections to ensure work meets plans, specifications, and industry standards Oversee testing and inspection documentation, including compaction, pressure testing, and concrete testing Track deficiencies, document findings, and ensure timely corrective actions Work closely with Superintendents and Foremen to resolve field quality issues Ensure subcontractors meet all quality and testing requirements Coordinate with project teams to maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation Support as-built documentation and project closeout requirements Review material submittals and verify compliance with project specifications Assist in training field teams on quality standards and procedures Analyze inspection data to identify trends and recommend improvements Lead root-cause analysis for quality issues and rework Maintain organized records for testing, inspections, and closeout documentation Partner with Safety and Operations teams to align quality and safety standards Qualifications 5+ years of experience in quality control within underground utilities, heavy civil, or related construction Strong knowledge of wet utilities, excavation, and backfill practices Familiarity with MAG standards and testing requirements Understanding of ASTM, ADEQ, OSHA, and related regulations Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and project documentation tools Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites Preferred QC/QA certifications or related credentials Experience on municipal or public works projects Work Environment Field-based role with regular exposure to outdoor conditions (heat, dust, noise) Active construction sites requiring walking, standing, and navigating uneven terrain If you or someone in your network fits this profile, let's chat! $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
