Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Poultry Quality Assurance Superintendent to lead our quality assurance initiatives within the poultry manufacturing sector. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of quality control, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality systems, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing processes, driving excellence from farm to finished product. Duties Lead and coordinate comprehensive quality assurance programs across all poultry production stages, from processing to packaging. Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems aligned with HACCP, SSOP, FSIS and FDA regulations to ensure compliance and operational excellence. Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to monitor adherence to safety standards, product specifications, and regulatory requirements. Oversee the implementation of SSOP and HACCP plans and ensure rigorous adherence to food safety protocols throughout the manufacturing process. Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans to continuously improve product quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including production, sanitation, and R&D—to optimize processes and uphold high-quality standards. Lead training sessions on quality systems, inspection procedures, and regulatory compliance for staff at all levels. Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, audit findings, and compliance status for senior management review. This position is considered on call. Directed activities therefore could occur on nights, weekends & holidays Other duties as assigned by Director of Technical services, Vice Presidents, or President. Skills Extensive knowledge of FDA regulations related to food safety, HACCP principles, SSOP and FSIS regulations and programs. Proven experience in conducting quality audits and implementing robust quality control measures within manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of food safety protocols specific to poultry processing plants. Expertise in developing and managing quality inspection procedures and quality assurance programs. Excellent analysis skills for identifying issues promptly and implementing effective corrective actions. Project management capabilities to lead continuous improvement initiatives efficiently. Exceptional communication skills for training teams, reporting findings, and collaborating across departments. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position involves both sedentary and on the production floor duties/ responsibilities. This includes but is not limited to areas in and outside the facility. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment needed to support food safety/ quality assurance team members.
When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
