Job Description

Quality Control Director About the Role We're looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Quality Control (QC) Director to lead our multi-state quality and compliance operations. Our diverse product portfolio spans industrial minerals, construction aggregates, precast concrete, and ready-mix concrete, serving customers across manufacturing, food, agriculture, chemicals, infrastructure, and construction. In this critical leadership role, you will guide a distributed team of quality control technicians and regional quality supervisors. You will ensure that all products consistently meet or exceed customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while advancing a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and operational integrity. This position will office in Laporte, CO; Laramie, WY; or Rapid City, SD. It will report to the Executive of Quality & Product Development.

Collaboration with cross-functional partners in operations, sales, and product development. What We're Looking For Leadership & Team Development Provide strategic and hands-on leadership to supervisors, labs, and QC technicians across three states. Develop and implement training programs for technical competencies, certification readiness, and quality best practices. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Product Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure all products meet customer, industry, and regulatory specifications.

Oversee test procedures, lab performance, sample management, and results reporting.

Maintain consistent quality methodologies across multiple facilities to ensure uniform product performance. Certification & Regulatory Oversight Manage compliance with programs including: PCI (Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute)ACI (American Concrete Institute)AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials)FDA (Food & Drug Administration)cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)NSF 60 (National Sanitation Foundation - Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals)Additional state, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements Lead audits, renewals, and regulatory interactions. Technical Services & Product Support Serve as a subject matter expert in industrial minerals, aggregates, and concrete performance.

Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical investigations.

Partner with operations, sales, and product development teams to optimize product performance and meet customer requirements. Process & Program Management Standardize lab procedures, test methods, and documentation across all locations. Implement robust quality systems and monitoring tools for compliance tracking and reporting. Develop KPIs and performance metrics for lab operations and product consistency. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Geology, Chemistry, Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical field.

Experience in product quality, technical services, compliance, sales, or operational management roles within industrial minerals, aggregates, concrete, or similar industries.

Experience in leadership or supervisory roles, preferably with multi-state responsibility. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Advanced industry certifications (ACI, PCI, ASTM training, etc.).Experience supporting both operational teams and customer-facing technical inquiries.

Strong knowledge of industry test methods (ASTM, AASHTO, PCI, ACI) and quality systems. Demonstrated experience with regulatory programs such as FDA, cGMP, or NSF. Background in materials testing, product development, or manufacturing quality systems.
