Job Description

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality control processes within a manufacturing facility to ensure that products meet internal standards and customer specifications. This role manages a team of quality inspectors or technicians, coordinates inspections, audits, and testing activities, and works closely with production, engineering, and management teams to identify and resolve quality issues. The Quality Supervisor also plays a key role in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement in quality performance.
Duties:
Direct and assign work within their working area, this includes working with team members, operation managers, prioritizing work. Promote teamwork and maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a collaborative manner with peers and team. To provide solutions to daily issues that might arise among Inspectors in their section, which do not require higher-level guidance. Work strategically to ensure there is sufficient coverage in their section with properly trained QC personnel. Ensure that the Quality Inspectors in their section are performing their duties correctly. Maintain employee attendance records for the operators in their section. Execute disciplinary procedures, write-ups etc., and manage vacation/time-off requests for the operators in their section. Support the hiring needs, employee evaluation, and employee discipline & termination. Support the implementation of operator training programs that will ensure a deep and continuing level of job training and cross-training. Maintain Quality operator training records. Attend Operations daily meetings and be prepared to report quality issues to the team. Participate in Root Cause Analysis of internal quality escapes. Ensure data entry into the SPC (Statistical Process Control) system is completed. Support and adhere to Shoals quality objectives and safety objectives. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, etc.). Associate degree preferred. OR in lieu of associate degree must have at least 5 years quality leadership experience. Quality Assurance experience and excellent communication and writing skills.
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read technical drawings. Have strong arithmetical skills. Understand both Standard and Metric Units for length, force, torque, weight. Know how to use all Quality testing equipment on the floor, viz. floor-tape, calipers, micrometer, depth gauge, pull-force testers, hi-pot testers, multimeter, continuity tester. Basic functions in MS Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to communicate effectively and write cogently. Ability to fill out inspection forms. The ability to train and use quality tools such as 5 Why's, RCA etc. English and/or Spanish is required Physical requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, push, bend and/or squat for 10+ hours in a day. Must be able to lift up to 25-50 Ibs at a time. Regularly perform repetitive tasks Must be able to work in a manufacturing facility environment.
