Job Description

Data Center QA/QC Manager Onsite - Abilene Texas The Regional QA/QC Manager will support an $800M electrical scope within a hyperscale data center project , overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities across all electrical systems . The role is fully onsite and represents the electrical contractor in enforcing quality standards, specifications, and commissioning readiness. Position Summary The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing the Quality Management Program for large‑scale data center construction projects. This individual will work closely with project leadership, engineering, field supervision, subcontractors, and the client to ensure all Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems are installed in strict compliance with contract documents, codes, and industry best practices. This role requires deep electrical construction expertise , strong electrical coordination experience , and proven leadership on mission‑critical or data center projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the QA/QC program for electrical scopes in accordance with contract requirements, client standards, and company procedures Develop, maintain, and enforce Project Quality Plans (PQP) , Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and checklists Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, local codes, client specifications, and industry standards Conduct regular audits of field activities, installations, and documentation Electrical Oversight Oversee quality inspections for: Medium & low voltage distribution UPS systems, generators, switchgear, bus duct Grounding & bonding systems Structured cabling and controls electrical systems coordination Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and method statements for quality compliance Identify quality risks and proactively implement corrective actions Field Coordination & Leadership Work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Field Engineers to resolve quality issues Lead quality meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and client representatives Provide training and mentoring to field teams on quality standards and inspection processes Ensure proper documentation and closure of all NCRs (Non‑Conformance Reports) Testing, Commissioning & Turnover Support testing, commissioning, and startup activities for electrical systems Verify inspections, test reports, and commissioning documentation meet client and turnover requirements Assist in preparing systems and documentation for client acceptance Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate QA/QC records, inspection logs, audit reports, and deficiency tracking Prepare weekly and monthly quality status reports for project and regional leadership Support internal and client audits Required QualificationsExperience 10+ years of construction QA/QC experience, with a strong focus on electrical systems 5+ years of experience on large‑scale data center, mission‑critical, or industrial projects Proven experience managing quality for electrical scopes in complex construction environments Experience working directly for an electrical contractor (preferred) Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) QA/QC or quality management certifications a plus (CQE, CQM, ISO‑related training, etc.) OSHA 30 required (OSHA 500/510 a plus) Technical Skills Strong knowledge of
NEC, NFPA
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and commissioning requirements Proficiency with inspection software, document control platforms, and Microsoft Office Soft Skills Strong leadership and communication skills Detail‑oriented with a proactive problem‑solving approach Ability to enforce standards while maintaining collaborative relationships Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑value, mission‑critical environment Travel & Work Environment Full‑time onsite work in Abilene Texas Regional support responsibilities may require limited travel to other projects as needed Exposure to active construction environments Why This Role Lead quality on a flagship $800M electrical scope Work on a high‑profile data center campus Long‑term project stability with a major electrical contractor Opportunity to shape regional QA/QC standards and influence best practices
INDAF Pay:
$175,000.00 - $275,000.00 per year
