Job Description
Quality Control Manager / Environmental Control Specialist Renew Safety Solutions is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager / Environmental Control Specialist to support a large-scale federal facilities maintenance and repair contract. This is a dual-hatted leadership position responsible for both quality assurance and environmental compliance across the contract's Area of Responsibility (AOR). The successful candidate will serve as the project's second-ranking executive and must remain independent from production activities. This individual will have the authority to identify deficiencies, stop nonconforming work when necessary, and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented. Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control Management Develop, implement, and enforce the project-specific Quality Control Plan. Create and maintain standard operating procedures, inspection processes, checklists, and quality documentation. Verify that fieldwork complies with contract requirements, approved procedures, applicable codes, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards. Lead, supervise, and provide technical direction to Quality Control Technicians and inspectors. Conduct field inspections, quality audits, and follow-up reviews. Identify nonconforming work and oversee corrective and preventive actions. Maintain quality records, inspection reports, deficiency logs, and supporting documentation. Coordinate quality-related activities with project leadership, field personnel, subcontractors, and client representatives. Monitor quality trends and recommend improvements to project processes and performance. Environmental Compliance Serve as the designated Environmental Control Specialist for the project. Manage and oversee work activities that may affect the environment. Monitor compliance with environmental permits, plans, contract requirements, and applicable regulations. Manage hazardous-material and hazardous-waste tracking, storage, documentation, transportation, and disposal requirements. Administer the project's certifications and permits program. Maintain and monitor Spill Prevention Plans and related environmental controls. Coordinate applicable NFPA compliance requirements and inspections. Manage required monthly water testing and maintain associated records. Conduct environmental inspections and identify potential compliance issues. Coordinate corrective actions for environmental deficiencies or incidents. Provide environmental compliance guidance to employees, subcontractors, and project leadership. Mandatory Qualifications Candidates must meet both of the following requirements: At least three years of experience performing Quality Control Manager duties on contracts of similar size and scope, including leadership and management of quality control inspectors. At least five years of environmental compliance experience on contracts of similar size and scope. Preferred Qualifications Five or more years of quality control experience. Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
