QA/QC Manager -
Data Center Construction Position Summary:
The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs on mission-critical data center construction projects. Working closely with project leadership, trade partners, commissioning teams, and client representatives, this role ensures all construction activities meet contractual requirements, project specifications, industry standards, and owner expectations. The QA/QC Manager serves as the primary quality leader on site, driving quality culture, process compliance, inspection programs, deficiency management, and turnover readiness throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in data center construction and a thorough understanding of mission-critical systems, commissioning processes, and quality management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Program Management Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans. Establish inspection, testing, and documentation requirements for all construction activities. Ensure compliance with contract documents, project specifications, approved submittals, and applicable codes. Maintain quality management systems and project quality records. Lead quality planning efforts during preconstruction and project startup. Construction Quality Oversight Monitor and inspect construction activities across all disciplines, including: Civil and site work Structural systems Architectural finishes Mechanical systems Electrical distribution systems Plumbing and fire protection systems Building automation and controls systems Verify installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. Conduct routine quality audits and field inspections. Data Center Systems Quality Control Oversee quality verification of mission-critical infrastructure including: Medium-voltage electrical systems Switchgear and switchboards Transformers UPS systems and battery systems Generators and paralleling controls Chillers, CRAHs, and cooling infrastructure Fuel oil systems Fire alarm and suppression systems BAS/BMS and EPMS systems Ensure all systems meet owner requirements and commissioning readiness standards. Inspection & Testing Management Coordinate inspections, testing activities, and quality verification procedures. Review inspection reports, test results, and deficiency logs. Verify completion of required quality hold points and witness inspections. Track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions. Manage turnover documentation and quality closeout processes. Deficiency & Punch List Management Establish and maintain project punch list procedures. Lead quality walks and deficiency identification efforts. Coordinate corrective actions with subcontractors and project teams. Verify closure of deficiencies prior to commissioning and owner turnover. Track quality metrics and trend analyses. Commissioning & Turnover Support Partner with commissioning teams to ensure systems are installed and documented properly. Support pre-functional and functional testing activities. Verify completeness of startup documentation and turnover packages. Participate in integrated systems testing (IST) and owner acceptance activities. Ensure quality requirements are met prior to substantial completion. Team Leadership & Training Mentor and manage QA/QC personnel assigned to the project. Promote a culture of quality throughout the project team. Conduct quality training sessions for field personnel and subcontractors. Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives. Client & Stakeholder Coordination Serve as the primary quality liaison between project teams, subcontractors, clients, and commissioning agents. Participate in owner meetings, quality reviews, and progress discussions. Communicate quality risks, trends, and corrective action plans to project leadership. Support client audits and compliance reviews. Qualifications Required 7+ years of construction quality management experience. 3+ years of experience on mission-critical, data center, or highly technical construction projects. Experience working for a General Contractor on large-scale commercial or industrial projects. Strong understanding of quality management systems, inspection processes, and construction standards. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, commissioning documentation, and testing procedures. Experience managing quality documentation and turnover processes. Proficiency with construction management and document control software. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data center projects. ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent certification. OSHA 30 Certification. Knowledge of commissioning processes and mission-critical systems. Experience with BIM/VDC coordination and digital quality management platforms. INDS Pay:
$130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
