OPPORTUNITY
Produce QC & Operations Coordinator position available at our Pharr, Texas Cold Storage Facility. Looking for a candidate who is experienced with Quality Control and Operations with Fresh Berries. Responsibilities include the ability to manage and coordinate daily operations at the Pharr, TX cold storage facility to ensure the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of our berries, while providing support to multiple departments. This role requires close collaboration with our teams in Mexico and the Sales team in California to align inbound and outbound volumes, commodities, and timing. The QC & Operations Coordinator ensures inventory accuracy, FIFO compliance, quality standards, regulatory adherence, and overall operational efficiency. This position requires the ability to use discretion and independent judgment at all times. This includes providing the best quality fruit to our customers and providing QC Reports to the company and our growers. Responsibilities A. Operations Management & Coordination
  • Manage daily operational activities related to the handling, storage, and distribution of berries at the Pharr, TX cold storage facility.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with the Meridian Fruits team in Mexico and the Sales team in Fresno.
  • Maintain complete and accurate knowledge of inventory at the Pharr, TX facility.
  • Support repacking operations as needed.
  • Provide operational support to grower locations as required, primarily on the East Coast. B. Quality Oversight & Cold Storage Monitoring
  • Monitor the Pharr, TX cold storage environment to ensure optimal temperature and handling conditions.
  • Inspect berries for quality assurance during inbound, storage, and outbound processes.
  • Communicate quality issues promptly to sales, operations, and management.
  • Coordinate and manage the timely handling and donation of rejected product. C. Operations & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Serve as a key operational link between Pharr, TX operations, Mexico-based teams, and Sales.
  • Support customer visits and facility tours at the Pharr facility.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational challenges. D. Systems, Inventory & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, food safety, and company standards.
  • Support accurate inventory reporting.
  • Track the purchase, usage, and movement of all wood pallets that come in and go out of the Pharr, TX facility.
  • Prepare and share a weekly pallet activity report with the Country Manager.
  • Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze, identify, and propose action to the solution of problems.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Extreme temperature changes, extended hours, and repeated lifting/restacking product as needed. Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for your position.
Equipment & Software Knowledge:
Famous, Microsoft Office Suite, and WhatsApp. Must be able to use a temperature probe, scales, and refractors.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Similar Experience required:
2+ years Experience with perishable commodities Strong organizational and communication skills.
