Job Summary:
The QCM oversees the construction process to ensure that the end product meets the desired level of quality. They perform quality checks throughout the construction process and inspect the end product before it is handed over to the client. As a Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing quality control procedures to ensure that all work is completed in compliance with the relevant building codes and standards. You will also work closely with project managers and engineers to identify and resolve any quality issues that arise, as well as monitor the performance of subcontractors to ensure their work is up to standard.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality control standards and procedures specific to construction projects, ensuring compliance with national and local building codes. Inspect and monitor construction activities on-site to identify deviations from quality standards, documenting any defects or non-compliance issues. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality control measures are understood and implemented at every stage of construction. Review construction materials, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards before they are used on-site. Manage the testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials for strength, composition, and adherence to project specifications. Facilitate Quality Control (QC) meetings to discuss quality control practices and expectations with subcontractors and project team members. Investigate customer complaints related to construction quality, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure that construction projects adhere to quality standards, regulations, and client specifications Work with project managers and site supervisors to address quality issues and ensure corrective actions are taken Manage and track inspection reports, logs, and other quality documentation Train and educate construction personnel on quality control procedures and best practices Stay up to date on industry standards and regulations for quality control in the construction industry Collaborate with clients, contractors, and engineers to resolve quality-related issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or 10 years of equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years as a Project Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager is required. 2 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager.
EM385-1-1
certified. Experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability. Construction Quality Management (CQM). Management of large construction projects. Able to demonstrate their ability to manage a multimillion-dollar project portfolio and a team made up of Project Managers, Design Engineers, Estimators, Contract Administrators, Administrative staff, Field Installers, Vendors and Subcontractors. Thorough knowledge of all construction related trades. Microsoft Office Suites.
Pay:
$105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
