Main responsibilities:
As the QA Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of the food safety and quality programs for the facility. This includes managing QA teams, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards (FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP), supporting audits, and continuously improving the site's food safety culture. You will work cross-functionally with production, sanitation, and maintenance to ensure quality is integrated into every process. Lead the plant's Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs, ensuring full regulatory compliance. Supervise QA staff, provide training, coaching, and performance development. Maintain and enforce all HACCP, GMP, SQF, and regulatory programs. Lead preparation for internal, third-party, and customer audits and ensure audit readiness at all times. Review and approve product testing, verification, and validation protocols. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams to resolve quality concerns. Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure timely resolution. Investigate consumer complaints and non-conformance issues, providing root cause analysis. Monitor and report KPIs related to quality, food safety, and compliance. Support SOX compliance and documentation requirements tied to traceability and QA protocols. Maintain accurate QA records and ensure documentation meets company and regulatory standards. Participate in continuous improvement projects and drive quality-focused culture throughout the plant. We are looking for candidates who possess the following: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field. 5 plus years of experience in a food manufacturing QA role, including at least 2 years in a leadership position. In-depth knowledge of FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory standards. Experience managing audits and leading food safety programs. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and QA database systems; SAP experience a plus.
