Job Description

Quality Manager The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the company's Quality Management System and ensuring products and processes meet AS9100, customer, regulatory, and government contract requirements. This role oversees quality assurance, audits, corrective actions, supplier quality, inspection, and continuous improvement. Who are we? Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California. Starting as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush and eventually assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed. Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. Job Summary Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System.

Ensure compliance with

AS9100, ISO

9001, customer requirements, FAR/DFARS, and applicable government contract requirements.

Lead internal, customer, registrar, and government audits.

Manage nonconformances, corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and quality escapes.

Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection.

Monitor supplier quality and corrective actions.

Serve as the primary quality contact for customers and government representatives.

Track quality metrics, including defects, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and corrective actions.

Lead and develop Quality personnel.

Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management to resolve quality issues.

Maintain quality records, traceability, and compliance documentation.

Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Required Skills and Qualifications Strong leadership and team-management skills Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills Strong knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing processes Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements Strong understanding of inspection and measurement processes Excellent written and verbal communication Strong analytical and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline Ability to work effectively with customers, auditors, government representatives, engineers, and production personnel Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality/ERP systems Ability and willingness to make independent quality decisions, including placing product on hold when requirements are not met Required Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of quality experience, preferably in aerospace.

Strong knowledge of AS9100 and

ISO 9001.

Experience with audits, corrective action, nonconformance management, and root-cause analysis. Government contracting experience and knowledge of

FAR/DFARS

preferred. Experience working with aerospace customers and/or government contractors preferred.

Experience in coordinating directly with the FAA is a plus

Base Compensation:
USD 115,000.00 - 130,000.00
