Overview PPL Quality Operations Specialists are responsible for development and implementation of Quality activities within the area of Quality Assessments, Quality Surveillance, Non-conformances, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective/ Preventive Actions, Continual Improvement, and Area / Project Quality Support. The PPL Quality Ops Specialist may function in multiple capacities, including QA/QC Engineer depending on the region, project site or facility. Reports directly to the Project Manager and regularly interfaces with Corporate and Area Functional Leads, Area Welding & QA Managers, Area Quality Managers, in addition to Project / Fabrication Shop Quality Managers. While on the project, the person in this role would receive a housing allowance and other allowances typically associated with being on site. Responsibilities The PPL Quality Operations Specialist typically supports an individual project, multiple projects, or a fabrication facility. Since this role can act in various capacities, as indicated above, the responsibilities described below may vary, subject to a specific assignment. The role is an individual contributor role but may supervise welding and inspection Technicians and/or Supervisors. Contributes to continued improvement area initiatives. Assists Quality Managers/Area Quality Leads in deploying Quality program initiatives. Conduct internal quality audits, as per area/project quality audit plan, when assigned. Provide assistance for obtaining applicable certifications, such as ASME, ISO, etc. Provide training to other project or shop personnel, as necessary. Responsible for understanding project requirements related to Welding and QA/QC and assuring compliance. Understand Sub-contract agreement requirements. Understand local regulatory requirements related to quality. Prepares and maintains project deliverables, based on the organization's management system and project requirements. Coordinates welding and QA/QC engineers and inspectors to ensure completion of any inspection and testing. Maintains project records, as per the organization's records management system. Ensure sufficient QA/QC resources are available to support all Project Processes; thus, including Design, Procurement, Fabrication, Supplier Surveillance, Receiving, Handling & Storage, Construction and Commissioning. Report Project Quality performance (KPI's) to Area Quality Manager and Area Welding & QA/QC Manager. Manages non-conformances and corrective actions, including root cause analysis, as applicable. Prepares and submits weekly, monthly quality reports to Operations and Functional management. Advise Project Team on all QA/QC issues Coordinates NDE activities at project site or shop. Supervises welders and welding operators, ensuring quality of the product, as assigned. Maintains up-to-date qualifications and certifications for welders, welding operators, NDE technicians, as applicable. Contributes to a positive project or Shop Safety Culture. Qualifications 15+ years of Company/Industry experience, out of which 10-15 years should be in the relevant discipline. Engineering degree (Typically Weld Engineering) preferred. Knowledge in applicable Management System documentation. Act as focal point for all Welding & QA/QC matters at the point of assignment. Understands project requirements and ensures compliance. Compiles project records and handover to the projects for final documentation. Can communicate effectively with internal and external disciplines at multiple levels. Pay Range:
USD $ 107,800.00-$140,200.00/
