About Us Wisconsin Ordnance Works (WOW) is a defense manufacturer in Oshkosh making precision machined and fabricated parts for the Defense Logistics Agency and major defense primes. Our parts go on vehicles and systems the warfighter depends on. Why This RoleThis is a chance to build something. You'll be WOW's first dedicated Quality Manager, reporting directly to the CEO, with the authority to shape how quality and compliance work across the company. You'll design the processes, build them into our ERP, and see them working on the shop floor. You'll start as a hands-on leader who builds the system, then build and lead the quality and compliance team as WOW grows. What You'll Do Lead our
AS9100D / ISO 9001
quality system and serve as our lead for registrar audits Run internal audits, corrective action, and root-cause investigations, including customer responses Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC tools to reduce scrap, rework, and escapes Track and report quality metrics and trends, and turn the data into action Partner with production, engineering, and purchasing to improve processes Represent WOW with customers on quality matters, including audits and visits Make sure customer contract requirements carry through to purchasing, production, and inspection Design our supplier quality process and monitor supplier performance Own document control and build quality steps into our ERP Train the team on procedures and keep them current Lead our CMMC Level 2 program with support from our IT provider Manage ITAR and JCP registrations Lead and grow our safety and environmental programs What You Bring 5+ years in quality in an AS9100 or
ISO 9001
manufacturing environment Experience hosting registrar audits and running internal audits and corrective action Hands-on use of root-cause tools such as 5 Whys, fishbone, and PFMEA Working knowledge of SPC and quality data analysis Working knowledge of machined part inspection, GD&T, and first article inspection (AS9102) Experience writing procedures and implementing them in an ERP or MRP system Organized, self-directed, and confident holding the line on quality Must be a U.S. person (ITAR requirement) Nice to Have AS9100 experience; AS9100 or
ISO 9001
Internal or Lead Auditor certification; ASQ CQA, CQE, or CMQ/OE Lean or Six Sigma experience (Green Belt a plus) Defense experience: DLA, DFARS, or prime supplier quality requirements
CMMC / NIST
800-171 or ITAR compliance experience OSHA 10/30 or safety program experience
Full-time Pay:
$85,000 - $100,000 per year + annual bonus
