Job Description

Chem-Pak, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor to lead the day-to-day activities of our Quality department in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising Quality Assistants and Quality Leads, coordinating inspections and testing, supporting quality investigations, and ensuring our products consistently meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. The ideal candidate combines strong manufacturing quality experience with effective leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. What You'll Do Supervise the daily activities of Quality Assistants and Quality Leads. Assign workloads and ensure appropriate department coverage. Coach, train, mentor, and develop Quality team members. Conduct performance evaluations and employee performance discussions. Assist with interviewing and onboarding new Quality employees. Oversee incoming, in-process, and finished-product inspections. Ensure required testing is completed accurately and on schedule. Review inspection records and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness. Verify products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. Assist with disposition decisions involving nonconforming materials and products. Ensure laboratory equipment and testing instruments are properly calibrated and maintained. Support internal and external quality audits. Help maintain Quality Management System documentation, record retention, and document-control practices. Lead investigations involving quality issues, customer complaints, and nonconforming products. Coordinate root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor quality trends and recommend process improvements. Partner with Production and Maintenance to improve quality, reduce waste, and resolve daily concerns. Support new-product introductions, production start-ups, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous-improvement initiatives. Communicate quality standards and expectations clearly across departments. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Quality, Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. At least 5 years of manufacturing quality experience . At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred . Experience in chemical, aerosol, pharmaceutical, food, or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred. Strong understanding of quality systems, inspections, and manufacturing processes. Working knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, CAPA, root-cause analysis, and quality-auditing principles . Strong leadership, communication, conflict-resolution, and employee-development skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience interpreting customer specifications and technical documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP or Quality Management software. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to move frequently throughout production and laboratory areas. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and chemicals.
