Quality Testing, LLC (QT) is seeking certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians to support commercial, transportation, municipal, and infrastructure projects throughout Arizona.
Pay Range:
$22.00-$38.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-time Starting pay will be based on relevant experience, certifications, technical knowledge, and project qualifications. To be considered for this position, applicants must currently hold both an active ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I certification and an applicable active ATTI certification. Our CMT Technicians play an essential role in verifying material quality and helping ensure construction projects comply with approved plans, specifications, testing procedures, and applicable standards. Responsibilities may include:
Performing field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials Inspecting construction activities for compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards Observing concrete placement, asphalt paving, earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage systems, and related construction activities Conducting concrete tests, including temperature, slump, air content, unit weight, and specimen preparation Performing soil-density and compaction testing using approved equipment and procedures Collecting, labeling, transporting, preparing, and processing material samples Performing laboratory testing as assigned Operating field and laboratory testing equipment safely and correctly Maintaining equipment, calibration records, samples, and testing documentation Recording test results and preparing accurate daily field and laboratory reports Identifying nonconforming materials or construction deficiencies Communicating testing results and field observations to engineers, contractors, inspectors, and project managers Following all company, project, laboratory, and client safety requirements Traveling to project locations throughout Arizona as required Required Certifications Applicants must currently hold both of the following: Active ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I certification Applicable active ATTI certification in soils, asphalt, aggregate, or another relevant testing discipline Applicants must provide the complete name and expiration date of each required certification during the application process. Candidates who do not currently hold both required certifications will not be considered for this position. Required Qualifications Relevant construction materials testing, construction inspection, field-testing, laboratory-testing, or Engineering Technician experience Experience testing or inspecting concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregate, or other construction materials Working knowledge of applicable testing procedures, specifications, and documentation requirements Ability to operate field and laboratory testing equipment properly and safely Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and engineering drawings Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and timely testing reports Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineers, contractors, inspectors, and project teams Ability to work outdoors at active construction sites in varying weather conditions Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, overtime, or varying schedules based on project requirements Willingness to travel throughout Arizona as project needs require Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards Additional Preferred Certifications Additional credentials that may strengthen a candidate's qualifications include: ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician Additional ATTI soils or asphalt certifications Nuclear-density gauge certification ICC certifications NICET certifications OSHA 10 or
OSHA 30 ADOT
inspection certifications ATSSA traffic-control certifications Other applicable construction inspection or materials-testing certifications Schedule and Travel Requirements This is a full-time field and laboratory position. Work schedules may vary based on project requirements and may include early mornings, days, nights, weekends, overtime, or extended shifts. Travel to construction projects throughout Arizona may be required, including assignments in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Prescott, and surrounding areas. Some projects may require overnight stays or extended travel. For eligible assignments, QT provides a company vehicle and per diem .
