Job Description

Position Summary The QA Compliance Technician supports the bakery's compliance with BRCGS Food Safety Standards by maintaining documentation, monitoring food safety programs, and ensuring that all required records are accurate, complete, and audit‑ready. This role is heavily focused on administration responsibilities that are essential to sustaining BRCGS certification, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring that bakery production meets regulatory and customer expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Documentation & Record Control Ensure approved supplier documentation is kept up to date Maintain, update, and organize all BRC‑required documents, including SOPs, policies, forms, logs, and training records. Ensure document control procedures are followed, including version control, approval workflows, and timely distribution of updated documents. Audit production and sanitation paperwork daily for accuracy and compliance. BRC Certification Support Conduct BRCGS internal audits and facility self-inspections to ensure continuous improvement actions are tracked. Prepare and maintain audit‑ready documentation for BRCGS certification audits. Coordinate pre‑audit activities, including facility walkthroughs, document reviews, and corrective action tracking. Data Entry & Reporting Perform daily production data verification in Safety Chain data management system Generate Safety Chain reports for KPIs such as non‑conformances, customer complaints, environmental monitoring, monthly foreign material trends. Assist with trending analysis to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement. Operational Support Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with GMPs, hygiene practices, and bakery‑specific food safety controls. Support investigations of foreign material contaminations, raw material & finished product non‑conformances, and customer complaints. Assist with calibration recordkeeping for bakery equipment such as scales, thermometers, and metal detectors. Attends weekly food safety, workplace safety, and operations meeting Internal Audits & Compliance Monitoring Assist in conducting internal audits and regular verification activities. Support traceability exercises and mass‑balance tests. Follow up on audit findings to ensure corrective actions are documented, implemented, and verified. Monitor compliance with bakery‑specific programs such as allergen control, metal detection, sanitation verification, traceability, and foreign material control. Training & Communication Support food safety training by tracking completion and maintaining training records. Communicate updates to policies and procedures to relevant departments. Provide administrative support to QA leadership for food safety meetings, corrective action reviews, and cross‑functional initiatives. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 3+ years of experience in food production, manufacturing, and/or QA. Familiarity with BRCGS or GFSI food safety certification, HACCP and GMPs Experience with Safety Chain, Red Zone, or other data management system Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Provides clear and concise communication via email or in-person Comfortable interfacing with suppliers and vendors to request documents Available to work weekends and holidays as part of your regular work schedule. Maintains a professional attitude and a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and bilingual in Spanish (a plus). Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to work in a production environment with varying temperatures (coolers, ovens, production floor). Ability to wear required PPE (hairnets, aprons, safety shoes, etc.)
Walking, Standing, Bending, Twisting:
2+ hours per shift. Must be able to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The bakery production floor is a loud, fast paced environment. Flour (Wheat) dust will be present in the air. Bakery Temperatures may increase and decrease with the weather and oven usage.Pay:
