Position Summary The Quality Control Technician II is responsible for performing routine food safety and quality checks to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards. This role performs all QC Tech I duties plus additional verification, calibration, and product quality assessments.
Responsibilities:
Perform all QC Tech I responsibilities. Conduct thermometer calibrations. Perform seal integrity checks using vacuum testing equipment. Collect sensory and retain samples. Conduct sensory evaluations of finished products. Verify label accuracy and compliance. Communicate food safety and quality concerns to supervisors and production teams.
Qualifications:
Ability to perform all essential job duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodation available as needed. Must uphold responsibilities related to the plant's Food Safety & Quality Management Systems , including identifying and preventing distribution of any product that does not meet company standards. High school diploma and/or minimum two years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience in industries regulated by FDA or USDA . Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus but not required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific/technical journals, manuals, and guides. Ability to respond to internal and external inquiries or complaints professionally. Ability to effectively present information to management and production employees. Ability to perform unit measures, conversion calculations, and other math necessary for the job. Basic math skills including fractions, percentages, and proportions. Basic understanding of statistics (mean, standard deviation, range, accuracy, precision).
