Job Title:
Quality Auditor / Quality Analyst I Job Description The Quality Auditor / Quality Analyst I plays a key role in ensuring that products, outbound shipments, and consolidated pallets meet established production and quality standards. This position combines hands-on inspection work on the production floor with data-driven auditing and reporting, supporting continuous improvement and collaboration with quality engineers and cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Inspect and test products, outbound shipments, consolidated pallets, and plant operations to verify they meet defined production and quality standards. Perform product and in-process inspection audits using basic hand tools such as calipers, pin gauges, and height indicators, following Symphony drawing specifications, Process Control Plans, and Product Quality Control Plans. Improve and refine audit plans in collaboration with quality engineers, and create clear execution documentation that details preparation steps and operating instructions for other inspection personnel. Prepare accurate reports to communicate the outcomes of product inspections, outbound shipment checks, and in-process audit activities to internal stakeholders and customers. Review the implementation and effectiveness of quality controls, including error-proofing tools and systems, and recommend improvements where needed. Support capability studies and perform Gage R&R studies to validate measurement systems and ensure reliable inspection results. Provide tooling and process recommendations to optimize product inspections and in-process quality checks on the production floor. Adopt and utilize digital quality tools to streamline inspection activities and optimize identified areas for improvement in the quality system. Identify and remove products that do not meet production standards and recommend strategies to improve overall product quality. Accept or reject finished products based on inspection results and discuss findings with continuous improvement teams to drive corrective and preventive actions. Conduct random inspections to assess ongoing product quality and verify that processes remain in control. Perform supplier quality inspections and review orders for compliance with special customer requirements. Share audit results and inspection findings with customers, clients, and internal teams in a clear and professional manner. Work alongside engineers and other production personnel on the floor to support quality-related activities and foster a culture of quality. Carry out other quality-related duties and tasks as assigned. Essential Skills Hands-on quality inspection or quality auditing experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Proficiency using basic hand measurement tools such as calipers, pin gauges, and height indicators. Ability to interpret blueprints, symbols, and geometric tolerances based on military and commercial specifications for measurement feasibility. Comfort working on the production floor performing physical, hands-on inspection tasks. Tech-savvy with strong Excel skills and the ability to work with digital quality tools and data. Ability to effectively use computers, software, and automation systems required for inspections and reporting. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in measurements, documentation, and reports. Good written and oral communication skills for documenting findings and communicating with internal teams and customers. Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify quality issues and recommend effective solutions. Ability to influence others to follow established rules, procedures, and quality regulations. Strong leadership qualities and a collaborative teamwork mentality. High school diploma or GED preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience performing product and in-process inspection audits using documented control plans and quality standards. Familiarity with Process Control Plans and Product Quality Control Plans. Experience supporting capability studies and conducting Gage R&R studies. Exposure to continuous improvement teams and methodologies in a production environment. Experience preparing clear, structured inspection and audit reports for internal and external stakeholders. Ability to adopt and promote the use of digital quality tools and systems. Background in supplier quality inspections and reviewing orders for special customer requirement compliance. Work Environment This position is based on-site in a production facility in Chino, CA, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. PST, and flexibility for overtime when business needs require it. You spend a significant portion of your time on the production floor performing hands-on inspections alongside engineers, operators, and other quality personnel. The environment involves working with basic measurement tools such as calipers, pin gauges, and height indicators, as well as computers, Excel, and digital quality and automation systems for data entry, analysis, and reporting. The facility operates with established quality procedures and control plans, and you are expected to follow all safety and operational guidelines while maintaining a neat, professional appearance appropriate for a manufacturing and inspection setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chino, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
