ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for directing, planning, and laying out the details of inspection standards, methods, and procedures used by AS9100 and the repair station to comply with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer's specifications, and requirements. To qualify for the position of Quality Control Inspector, the position holder must maintain a current HAS Quality Control Inspectors' inspection rating. In addition, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for: Requiring that all technical data used on all articles manufactured, overhauled, or repaired by the Herber Aircraft or Repair Station technicians are complete and current with the latest revisions. This data will include AS9100 and the repair station's process specifications for limited rating specialized services, AMM's, SRM's, IPC's, manufacturer's overhaul manuals, service bulletins, article specifications; related Federal Aviation Administration approved data and other technical data used by the repair station. In addition, if required, ensure all military technical orders used in the overhaul, repair, or test of airframes or articles have been evaluated and approved in advance by the Customer or FAA (if required) and have been listed on the repair station's Operations Specifications; Assuring that required periodic checks are made on all inspection tools and the calibration of precision test equipment used by the repair station is accomplished when scheduled. Ensure that a current record of these inspections and tests is maintained. Requires all technicians to annotate calibration due dates, along with tool numbers, on work cards prior to buying the work performed; Assuring that all precision tools and/or test equipment used by Inspectors are in proper working order (serviceable) and that all precision tools and/or test equipment used by Inspectors are within their approved calibration periods; Complying with the procedures for maintaining files of completed work orders in such a manner that the files pertaining to a specific article's repair can be readily located for evaluation; Airworthiness of special processes performed by contracted maintenance providers; Ascertaining that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work, that the proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by the manufacturing operations or repair station are properly executed prior to releasing the article for return to service; Determining that only airworthy articles are installed on any item or articles released by the Repair Station; Assuring the proper execution of FAA Form 8130-3, foreign equivalent of 8130-3, C of C, export document, or any additional documentation requested by a customer when required, and/or a maintenance release; Returning articles to service; Inspection of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies, and articles on which work has been performed outside the repair station. Review purchase orders and approve certificates of conformance and other approved data attached to incoming parts to assure authenticity and traceability to an original equipment manufacturer. (i.e., 14 CFR Part 119, 121, 125, 129, 135 and 145); Conducting the preliminary, hidden damage, in-process and final inspection of all articles processed by the repair station and record results as outlined in this manual; and Overseeing the proper tagging and identification of all parts and articles as outlined in the quality system manuals. Providing for continuity of inspection responsibilities, assuring completion of required inspection when personnel shift or assignment changes occur; Ascertaining that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for return to service, and that the proper inspections and maintenance records, reports and forms required for such release are properly executed prior to release; Ascertain airworthiness of all maintenance accomplished by contracted maintenance providers; Determine that requirements for functional checks are accomplished; Complying with air carrier requirements
IAW 14 CFR
Part 145 § 145.205; Determining progressive and/or in-process inspection frequencies, as required; Auditing all record packages for technical and physical completeness, prior to authorizing the release to service; and Assist the customer in rendering "scrap" designation for: Recoverable articles for company action; Expendable articles and their disposal; and Witness/verify scrapping action when directed to be scrapped by the customer. Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, ensure availability of all applicable safety equipment and material within his or her area of oversight, and stay alert to all safety hazards to be corrected in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned by Management. The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.

EXPERIENCE
Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 0-1 years of general work experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a current HAS Quality Control Inspectors' inspection rating. Must be able to maintain a clear status on DOT random drug program. This job has the following special vision requirements. Corrected 20/20 Vision Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
