Role to begin in mid-November 2026 Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician to support quality, manufacturing, product development engineering, and logistics operations in a fast-paced prototype manufacturing environment. The Quality Technician will inspect incoming materials, in-process components, finished prototype parts, tooling, and parts returned from secondary processing vendors. This role will also support non-conformance management, MRB activities, calibration, material traceability, shipping documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience in precision manufacturing or a machine-shop environment, strong mechanical inspection skills, knowledge of GD&T, and the ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines. Responsibilities Develop and maintain inspection plans, instructions, and IQC, IPQC, and OQC procedures. Inspect raw materials, machined parts, tooling, finished products, and components returned from secondary processing. Perform visual, functional, dimensional, and mechanical inspections. Use precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, pin gauges, height gauges, and optical comparators. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements. Perform CMM and metrology activities. Create and manage NCMRs/NCRs and quarantine instructions. Identify, isolate, track, and disposition non-conforming materials. Coordinate and participate in MRB meetings. Support RCCA and 8D investigations to resolve quality issues. Maintain lot control, heat-number traceability, job tracking, and quality records. Perform equipment calibration and maintain calibration schedules in accordance with ISO requirements. Route parts between machining, deburring, inspection, and outside processing operations. Maintain organized holding and quarantine areas. Prepare certificates of conformance, packing slips, material certifications, and other shipping documentation. Update job statuses in ERP/MRP or shop management systems. Support inventory audits, packaging, shipping, and process improvement projects. Prioritize urgent quality requirements and help prevent production bottlenecks. Qualifications Associate degree in a relevant field or six years of applicable experience. Two to four years of experience in quality inspection, precision manufacturing, machine-shop operations, shipping, receiving, or shop logistics. Knowledge of QMS and quality control fundamentals. Experience with
MRB, NCMR/NCR
processes, quarantine, and material disposition. Strong understanding of 8D and root-cause problem-solving methods. Ability to read mechanical drawings and apply GD&T principles. Experience using precision inspection equipment and measurement tools. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and prioritization skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work for extended periods on a manufacturing floor. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PC-DMIS programming. Knowledge of AQL, PFMEA, and process flowcharts. GD&T or Quality Inspection certification. Experience with prototype parts for aerospace, medical device, automotive R D, robotics, or other high-tech industries. Experience with ERP/MRP or job-shop management systems. Forklift certification or experience with pallet jacks and overhead hoists. Knowledge of aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, engineering plastics, and secondary finishing processes. Why Apply?
