Quality Inspector - Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication MMP Sheet Metal - La Habra, CA MMP Sheet Metal is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to independently inspect precision sheet metal parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with customer drawings, specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements. This position is best suited for someone with strong hands-on inspection experience who understands sheet metal fabrication, can confidently read and interpret blueprints, perform first-article and in-process inspections, use precision measuring equipment, and make sound quality decisions without requiring constant supervision. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of quality, pays close attention to detail, and works effectively with production employees to identify and resolve quality issues before parts reach the customer. What You'll Do Perform receiving, first-article, in-process, and final inspections of precision sheet metal parts and assemblies Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and work instructions Complete first-article inspections and associated inspection reports Verify dimensions, hole locations, bends, angles, tolerances, and other drawing requirements Inspect work throughout different stages of production to identify problems before additional work is performed Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, angle gauges, surface plates, and other precision measuring instruments Apply mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry when needed to verify part dimensions and requirements Verify completed parts against customer drawings, specifications, and job requirements Identify defects, deviations, and nonconforming products and clearly document findings Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation Communicate quality issues with press brake operators, welders, fabricators, and management Help determine whether nonconforming parts can be corrected or need to be remade Assist production employees in understanding drawing requirements and tolerances Help identify recurring quality problems and opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, and customer issues Maintain calibration status and proper care of inspection equipment as assigned Support proper documentation and traceability of inspection activities Maintain an organized and accurate inspection area What We're Looking For Prior quality inspection experience in precision sheet metal fabrication, machining, manufacturing, or a related environment Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints Strong working knowledge of dimensional tolerances and manufacturing inspection practices Experience performing first-article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related inspection equipment Working knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry as applied to manufacturing and inspection Ability to independently determine whether a completed part meets drawing and specification requirements Good understanding of fabricated sheet metal parts, bends, holes, weldments, and assemblies Ability to identify and clearly document defects, deviations, and nonconforming material Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability Ability to communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally with production employees and management Basic computer proficiency, including Windows and email Ability to accurately enter and maintain inspection and quality records Dependable attendance and a strong sense of responsibility Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small production team Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is especially valuable: Precision sheet metal flat-pattern layout GD&T First-article inspection reporting Military specifications and quality requirements Aerospace or defense manufacturing CMM or other advanced inspection equipment ERP or manufacturing software Quality-management systems and controlled documentation Compensation & Benefits $26-$30 per hour , depending on experience Health insurance - MMP pays 50% of the employee and family premium Paid time off (PTO) Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM Why MMP Sheet Metal? Pay:
