A Quality Inspector inspects and evaluates products according to company quality control standards. Inspects goods or packaging in a production or manufacturing facility.
3-5 years of QC experience in PCB Assembly manufacturing, or 10 years of directly related field experience. Must have worked in an electronics, aerospace, or semiconductor industry in the manufacturing or QA department. AOI operator experience.
Education:
Must be IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 and
JSTD-001
certified.

Job Description:
Operate AOI equipment to inspect PCB assemblies and identify defects or quality concerns. Run and monitor AOI programs as needed throughout the SMT production process. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with customer and company requirements. Perform daily quality control activities, including in-process, final, and component inspections. Inspect boards produced through SMT, hand assembly, and machine assembly processes. Inspect PCB assemblies both on and off the production line to identify defects and non-conforming conditions. Identify and document PCB assembly defects and ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements. Communicate quality issues to the SMT team, managers, and engineers as needed. Support implementation of changes and improvements to existing QA procedures and systems. Assist with internal quality audits and maintain accurate quality documentation. Support Engineering activities related to product and process quality improvements. Use magnifiers, microscopes, calipers, multimeters, and other electronic inspection tools as required. Read and interpret work instructions, checklists, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other technical documentation. Follow applicable IPC, ISO, customer, quality, and safety requirements.
Position Requirements:
Strong knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes and PCB assembly defect types. Knowledge and experience with AOI, X-ray inspection, and BGA components. Familiarity with electronic inspection tools, including magnifiers, microscopes, measurement calipers, and multimeters. Ability to perform and document First Article Inspections. Knowledge of
ISO 9001
quality standards and applicable safety practices. Ability to read and understand work instructions, checklists, BOMs, and other manufacturing documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate quality issues effectively. Must be flexible and comfortable working in a small manufacturing environment where additional technician-level duties may be assigned as needed.
