1st Shift, 7:00am to 3:30pm HB Staffing is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:
Perform daily quality control activities, including in-process, final, and component inspections. Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with customer and company requirements. Inspect PCB assemblies produced through SMT, hand assembly, and machine assembly processes. Inspect boards throughout the SMT production process and identify defects or quality concerns. Operate and utilize AOI systems and review inspection results as needed. Perform inspections using magnifiers, microscopes, calipers, multimeters, and other electronic inspection equipment. Identify and document PCB assembly defects and communicate quality issues to SMT teams, managers, and engineers. Ensure products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable quality standards. Read and interpret work instructions, checklists, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other manufacturing documentation. Support engineering activities and quality improvement initiatives as needed. Assist with implementing improvements to existing quality assurance procedures and systems. Support internal quality audits and maintain accurate quality documentation and records. Utilize knowledge of AOI, X-ray inspection, BGA components, and SMT manufacturing processes. Perform hand soldering and other technician-level manufacturing activities when QC inspection is not required.
Position Requirements:
Must have knowledge of and experience with IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and
J-STD-001
standards. J-STD certification is preferred. 3-5 years of QC experience in PCB assembly manufacturing or 10 years of directly related experience. Experience working in electronics, aerospace, semiconductor, or similar manufacturing environments. In-depth knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes and PCB assembly defect types. Knowledge and experience with AOI, X-ray inspection, and BGA technology. Ability to use common electronic inspection tools, including microscopes, magnifiers, calipers, and multimeters. Knowledge of
ISO 9001
quality standards and manufacturing safety practices. Ability to read and understand work instructions, checklists, BOMs, and other technical documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with ERP systems is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues accurately. Ability to communicate effectively with production, engineering, management, and other team members. Must be flexible and comfortable working in a small manufacturing environment where additional technician-level responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
