Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for upholding current safety policies and oversees the product development process to ensure that all products meet quality standards. The Quality Inspector is also responsible for performing tests on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications, blueprint, and Purchase Order requirements are being met and company quality standards are followed.
Essential Responsibilities:
The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks and responsibilities requested by supervisor. Job duties and requirements may change as required by needs of Company. Essential Duties in Order of Priority Frequency Performed 1. Final inspection of product to insure compliance to customer technical specifications, blueprint and Purchase Order requirements Constant 2. Inspect, test and/or measure materials or products being produced Constant 3. Document FAI measurement results and complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports Constant 4. Act as liaison with other departments and organizations Frequent 5. Provide leadership, technical advice and council to team members Frequent 6. Investigate, recommend, and implement process improvements that effect quality, cost and speed Occasional 7. Reports quality problems or finds to QA Manager and follows up to ensure corrective action takes place Frequent 8. Maintains record of inspections and prepares lists of defects, interacts with other departments to ensure compliance with specifications and to facilitate the acceptance of parts Frequent 9. Ensure that all quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase Frequent 10. Must take full responsibility for product that is shipped to Customers Constant 11. Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate
As Needed Qualifications:
(minimum required to perform and be successful in this position)
    Education:
    High School Diploma or equivalent
      Experience:
      1 year of experience related to QA engineering in a manufacturing environment
      • Experience/knowledge of equipment, machines, tools, etc: Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings Knowledge of measuring gauges, calipers and instruments
      • Communication and language skills: Must be able communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, both verbally and written
      • Mathematical skills: Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Some geometry used in tube and duct manufacturing is preferred
      Computer Skills:
      Ability to work Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
      • Reasoning ability: Must be able to understand requirements and be able to make determinations based on the Specifications, blueprint and Purchase order instructions

      Abilities:
      Detail-orientated Multi-tasking skills Flexibility and adaptability Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
      Supervision Received:
      Ability to work independently with limited supervision
      Supervisory Responsibilities:
      Incumbent has no supervisory authority over others Interaction with others (internally and externally): Interacts internally with co-workers, lead, manager and senior managers on a daily basis. Some Interaction with Customer's and on-site Source Inspectors. Discretion and independent
      Judgement:
      Must be able to determine the acceptability of product based on hard evidence or measurements taken that proves the product conforms to all customer requirements which include: specifications, tooling, blueprints, and purchase orders.
