This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Job Description Client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Receiving Inspector 2 to join our team in Oxnard, CA. This critical role is responsible for ensuring all incoming materials, from EEE components to complex assemblies, meet stringent contractual, configuration, and documentation requirements before acceptance into production. This position requires disciplined inspection execution within an AS9100 or SQAR environment, serving as the first line of defense in the quality assurance process. The role is 100% onsite and follows a 9/80 work schedule, offering every other Friday off. Key Responsibilities Perform receiving inspection on flight-critical hardware, including EEE components, PWBs, RF cable assemblies, COTS items, and government-furnished equipment. Validate supplier documentation such as Certificates of Conformance, test data, lot traceability, and quality requirement compliance. Execute inspection activities according to applicable Work Instructions, Quality Specification Instructions, and program-specific requirements. Initiate and maintain inspection records in TIPQA; verify routing in Costpoint prior to material acceptance. Initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and support Material Review Board (MRB) documentation for nonconforming materials. Conduct visual, dimensional, and documentation-based inspections; enforce hold conditions on unresolved or flagged materials. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for escapes or systemic deficiencies. Collaborate with Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Production teams to resolve documentation and upstream system issues. Support other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications for Level 2: High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of related experience or education. Experience performing inspection for identity and dimensional conformance. Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, gages, and pin gages. Visual inspection experience for defects or damage. Ability to make pass/fail acceptance decisions and maintain inspection records. Familiarity with QMS documentation, blueprints, drawings, and inspection instructions. Working knowledge of AS9100 or similar aerospace/defense Quality Management System standards. Understanding of SQAR requirements and Q-code application in government contracts. Basic Qualifications for Level 3: High School diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of related experience or education. Same technical experience as Level 2, with additional experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience with TIPQA inspection management system. Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint ERP and SAP inspection modules.
IPC-A-610
Certified Inspection Specialist (CIS) or Certified IPC Trainer (CIT). Familiarity with
IPC-A-600
for PWB acceptance inspection. Training in counterfeit component detection (CCAP or AS6081). Experience supporting MRB activities in an AS9100 or DCMA environment.
Pay:
$30.00 - $32.00 per hour
