We are seeking a skilled Metrology Technician to support precision measurement, inspection, and data analysis activities using advanced 3D portable metrology equipment. This role involves working with coordinate measuring machines (CMM arms), laser trackers, optical scanners, probes, and related inspection and reverse engineering technologies. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, technically skilled, and capable of interpreting engineering drawings and transforming measurement data into usable reports and models that support manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and quality assurance operations. Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field preferred Experience in quality inspection, machining, metrology, or precision manufacturing preferred Strong communication skills and ability to read, write, and understand English Eagerness to learn new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing processes Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance as needed Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments Ability to stand, walk, and perform inspections for extended periods Ability to pass required background checks and drug screenings Reliable, safety-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced technical environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
Perform precision inspections using portable metrology equipment including CMM arms, laser trackers, optical scanners, XRF analyzers, and hardness testers. Reverse engineer components and assemblies using both advanced metrology tools and traditional inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.). Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements. Generate detailed inspection reports and document findings for internal and external stakeholders. Convert inspection data into preliminary 3D models or 2D CAD representations when required. Conduct inspections for maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO), alignment, machine setup, and quality verification purposes. Maintain accurate records of inspection data within digital systems and file management platforms. Assist with calibration tracking, maintenance, storage, and management of metrology equipment. Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Why This Job?
