QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR
(AEROSPACE
MANUFACTURING
) Aerospace manufacturing company seeking a qualified individual for the Quality Inspector position in an aerospace machine shop environment. Dimensional and visual inspection of machined and fabricated parts for conformance to drawings and other requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
  • Conduct detailed first piece, in-process, final, and first article inspections on aircraft components
  • Use standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge, pin gauges, etc. Use good judgment regards workmanship issues.
  • Working knowledge of blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Compare product to customer drawings, fixtures, and published customer standards.
  • Generate and process NCR documentation on discrepant product.
  • Verify outside operations by comparing supplier certification documents against detailed customer standards (heat treat, paint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of AS9100 certified quality systems. Ability to complete AS9100 First Article Inspections and reports.
  • Ability to use basic machine shop tools, caliper, micrometer, height gage Experience and competence with MS Windows based software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Manage or generate all associated detailed documentation including supplier certs, internal certs, inspection documents, etc. Reconcile discrepancies with company personnel, and external suppliers.
  • Complete/assemble/submit first article documentation (AS9102) to customers via email or web portal.
  • Conduct process/product audits and report findings. Participate in process improvement activities.
  • Report to the Quality Manager & Department Leads on day-to-day activities within the department, and accept constructive feedback. Maintain a high standard of effectiveness in the position, and lead others in the department by example.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
