CMM Operator Cloud Data Sciences Pleasanton, CA Job Details Contract $26.08 - $31.41 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications CMM laser scanning Manufacturing facility experience Attention to detail Manufacturing Root cause analysis Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CMM Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure that parts and assemblies meet strict quality standards. Your technical proficiency in precision measurement, blueprint reading, and CMM programming will be vital in maintaining the highest levels of quality assurance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to precision manufacturing processes within an aerospace or high-tech environment, ensuring products meet rigorous industry standards such as
AS9100, ISO
9001, and
ISO 13485.
Duties Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), including PC-DMIS and other software like Calypso, to perform dimensional inspections on complex components. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to accurately measure parts. Conduct detailed dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other tooling. Ensure all measurements adhere to quality standards in production by verifying parts against engineering specifications and quality control protocols. Maintain calibration records for measuring instruments and ensure all equipment complies with ASME codes & standards and ISO requirements. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of measurement discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Document inspection results meticulously, prepare detailed reports, and support quality assurance audits aligned with
AS9100, ISO
9001, and
ISO 13485
standards. Experience Proven experience operating CMMs (preferably PC-DMIS or Calypso) within a manufacturing environment, especially in aerospace or medical device industries. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Familiarity with quality standards such as
AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO
13485, and relevant ASME codes & standards. Hands-on experience with dimensional inspection techniques using height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks or CAD-based programming for CMMs is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform quality control checks in accordance with strict industry regulations and specifications. Technical proficiency in programming CMMs using PC-DMIS or similar software to automate measurement processes efficiently.
