Specializing in sheet metal fabrication and assemblies. This client supplies tens of thousands of aerospace components for commercial jetliners, defense, space and security systems.
Contract-to-hire Shift :
1st Shift 7:30am-4pm Monday -
Friday Pay Rate:
$25-$40/hr. This role requires proficiency in using specific software, such as PC-DMIS, and familiarity with Brown and Sharp machines. The job description for a CMM Programmer/Operator typically includes the following responsibilities and qualifications:
Responsibilities:
Programming CMM:
Develop and create measurement programs using PC-DMIS software based on engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications.
Machine setup:
Prepare and set up the CMM equipment, including loading necessary probes, fixtures, and reference tools.
Operating CMM:
Perform dimensional and geometric measurements on parts using the CMM equipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
Data analysis:
Analyze and interpret measurement data, including deviations from specifications, and provide reports on measurement results.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and troubleshoot any issues related to CMM programming, equipment, or measurement processes to ensure optimal performance.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of measurement programs, measurement results, and related documentation.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience as a CMM Programmer/Operator or in a similar role, preferably with experience in programming and operating Brown and Sharp machines.
Software proficiency:
Proficient in using PC-DMIS software for CMM programming, including creating measurement routines, executing programs, and analyzing measurement data.
Technical knowledge:
Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles, metrology concepts, and measurement techniques.
Blueprint reading:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to develop accurate measurement programs.
Attention to detail:
Strong attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and accurate documentation.
Problem-solving skills:
Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues related to CMM programming, equipment, or measurement processes.
Communication skills:
Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers, quality personnel, and other stakeholders, and to provide clear reports on measurement results.
