Our team brings over 100 years of combined experience in the photonics industry. We specialize in custom laser optics including wedged windows, laser mirrors, beam splitter cubes, lenses, prisms, and polarizers for demanding applications in Directed Energy, space systems, quantum research, and industrial processing. With in-house fabrication, super-polishing, IBS coating, and precision assembly, PPD delivers advanced optical solutions tailored to exact customer specifications. Position Summary PPD is seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Tech to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for handling, cleaning, and inspection of precision optical components. You should be familiar with using microscopes, micrometers, calipers, interferometers, and autocollimators.

This position is ideal for candidates interested in building a long-term career in optics or precision manufacturing. Responsibilities Clean, inspect and test products to MIL and/or ISO specifications Understand written work instructions and mechanical drawings of optical components Cleaning, handling, and assembly of coated and uncoated optical components, laser crystals and opto-electronic components Perform visual inspection and testing with microscopes, micrometers, calipers, interferometers, and autocollimators Proper handling and packaging of critical and fragile optical components Maintain appropriate records and log books Create shipping documentation Keep work area neat and organized Required Qualifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to read and follow technical drawings and instructions Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work independently after training Good communication and teamwork skills Interest in developing a career in optics manufacturing Preferred Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in cleaning and/or inspection of optics, or equivalent training from a specialized institution Work Environment Cleanroom and manufacturing environment Hands-on work with specialized equipment Detail-focused, quality-driven production environment Compensation & Benefits Starting pay: $22.00 per hour DOE Health insurance Dental insurance Retirement plan Paid time off Parental leave Flexible schedule Additional Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident (ITAR compliance) Ability to commute to Mead, CO (required) This is an in-person position Perkins Precision Developments must comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) issued by the US Dept of State, Directorate of Defense Controls.
