Full-Time About Alpha Metalcraft Group (AMG) Alpha Metalcraft Group (AMG) is a leading precision manufacturing organization serving the Aerospace, Defense, Medical, and Industrial markets. Our Danbury facility is the premier AS9100-certified electroforming supplier, producing highly engineered components used in mission-critical aerospace and defense applications. AMG Danbury specializes in manufacturing rotorcraft composite blade leading-edge abrasion strips, turbine engine vane erosion sheaths, and missile and rocket wing slot heat shields. Through advanced electroforming technologies and a commitment to quality excellence, we support some of the world's most demanding aerospace and defense programs. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support our Quality Management System and manufacturing operations while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. Position Summary The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting and executing daily Quality Assurance activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and regulatory standards. This role focuses on product inspection, quality documentation, quality system support, and continuous improvement activities while maintaining compliance with AS9100, AS13100, and customer-specific requirements. The Quality Technician works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Key Responsibilities Perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100, AS13100, and internal quality requirements. Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and preparation of AS9102 documentation packages. Participate in internal audits and support customer, AS9100, Nadcap, and other external audits as required. Review inspection records, certifications, quality documentation, and manufacturing records for accuracy and completeness. Utilize root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, FMEA, and corrective action methodologies to support investigations and corrective actions. Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify quality issues and support process improvement initiatives. Support calibration activities and maintain inspection equipment and calibration records. Assist with supplier quality activities, including document review, certification verification, and supplier corrective action support. Maintain accurate quality records and documentation in accordance with company procedures. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the facility. Ensure compliance with ITAR requirements and all applicable customer, regulatory, and company standards. Support additional quality initiatives and projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, inspection, or quality environment. Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or AS13100 quality standards. Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T. Familiarity with inspection methods, measurement techniques, and quality documentation requirements. Experience using root cause analysis and corrective action tools such as 5 Whys and FMEA. Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy. Ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams. Ability to perform detailed visual inspections using microscopes, magnification devices, and precision inspection equipment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field. Experience supporting aerospace, defense, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments. Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements. Experience supporting customer, AS9100, and Nadcap audits. Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and height gauges. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with ERP systems and electronic quality management systems.
