Quality Inspector / Receiving & FAI Specialist (Enfield, CT, 06082) | 06/19/26 Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector / Receiving & FAI Specialist to support a leading Aerospace & Defense (A&D) small parts distribution center in Enfield, CT. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality inspection, blueprint reading, First Article Inspection (FAI), and technical documentation within a manufacturing or aerospace environment. Key Responsibilities Perform receiving inspection and process aerospace engine hardware.
Review quality documentation and verify compliance with customer requirements.
Conduct data entry into internal systems and customer portals with high accuracy.
Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102 standards.
Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming materials.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality specifications.
Use manual inspection tools and gauges to verify product quality.
Maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
Collaborate daily with project leaders and cross-functional teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in a Technical field preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of relevant quality inspection experience, or 5+ years of relevant experience without a technical degree.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
Hands-on experience with manual inspection tools and measuring gauges.
Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.
Experience reviewing technical documentation and quality records.
Strong data entry and reporting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience working in regulated manufacturing or aerospace environments. Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as DQR, CQT, CQE, or other quality-related certifications.
Experience in Aerospace & Defense manufacturing or distribution.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Customer-focused with a high level of professionalism and integrity. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs when required.
Comfortable working in a warehouse/shop floor environment.
