Our client in Hamden, CT, is looking to add an experienced Quality Inspector to their team. Qualified candidates will have experience with IPC and J-STD standards, AOI inspection methods, SMT, and inspecting circuit boards. This is a direct-hire opportunity with an immediate start available. It is a First Shift position from 7:00 AM•3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and pays between $25•40/hr depending on experience. No Degree RequiredResponsibilities Conduct through visual and instrumental inspections of complex assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies, printed circuit boards, complete box builds, cables, etc. to determine and ensure acceptability for use based on identified criteria. Knowledge of SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and through-hole assembly methods. Perform first piece and final inspections according to customer & IPC requirements. Verify against the drawings to determine compliance and record inspection status on QC inspection reports. Proficiency in identifying components on an assembled Printed Circuit Board (PCB) relying on silkscreen markings, reviewing design documentation. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, and work instructions. Accurately document inspection results, and nonconformances. Assist in training new team members in inspection techniques, procedures, and quality standards, and recommend process improvements to management. Proficient at setting-up and operating AOI machines. Proficiency in using various inspection and measurement equipment such as microscopes, calipers, gauges, etc. Accountable for quality, quantity and inspection of work performed. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
