Job Description

Job Title Production Quality Technician The Production Quality Technician supports daily production and quality assurance activities in a fresh‑cut produce manufacturing facility. This hands‑on position works directly on the production floor to ensure food safety, product quality, and efficient manufacturing operations. The role partners closely with Production and Quality leadership to support equipment setup, monitoring, sampling, documentation, and GMP compliance. Key Responsibilities Perform daily sampling and monitoring of critical control points, including water testing, metal detection, temperatures, product weights, chemical concentrations, and packaging integrity. Set up production equipment prior to each shift and monitor performance throughout the day. Assist with production processes and support line changeovers to maintain efficient and consistent operations. Operate and verify metal detectors to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. Conduct basic quality and laboratory tasks, including chemical titrations and equipment calibration. Maintain cleanliness and strong housekeeping standards across production floors, work areas, and equipment zones. Support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) by monitoring processes and communicating needed adjustments during production. Investigate, document, and report non‑conformance and food safety issues in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain complete, accurate, and well‑organized quality assurance and production documentation. Identify and escalate product defects or food quality concerns to prevent non‑compliant product from reaching customers. Test, handle, and document the use of sanitizers and food‑contact chemicals in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines. Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements, including HACCP, GMPs, FDA, OSHA, and FSMA standards. Assist with warehouse activities such as stacking boxes, building pallets, and operating pallet jacks and hand trucks. Support

Food Traceability Rule onboarding and compliance activities. Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to support a safe, efficient, and quality‑focused production environment. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Ability to perform quality inspections and monitoring in a production environment. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow safety protocols and work safely around machinery. Comfortable working independently under appropriate supervision. Willingness and ability to work in cold, damp conditions (under 40°F). Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, or quality assurance (training available). HACCP, ServSafe, or auditing certifications. Experience with quality checks, inspections, or basic laboratory techniques (titrations, calibration). Familiarity with GMPs, FDA, OSHA, FSMA, and HACCP standards. Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus. Work Environment & Schedule On‑site role in a fresh‑cut produce manufacturing facility. Typical shift begins at 5:30 a.m. and ends between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. , depending on production volume. Cold, damp environment (below 40°F) with exposure to production machinery and food processing equipment. Position includes physical tasks such as lifting, palletizing, and operating material‑handling equipment. Team‑oriented culture emphasizing quality, precision, and accountability. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
