Junior Quality Engineer Job Summary:
Supports the Quality Control group, maintains quality system and compliance documentation, prepares and submits reports to both internal and external sources, and is responsible for quality system document control. Assist the Quality engineering and Inspection departments as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Follows company policies and procedures with regard to the Quality System as they apply. Will be required to learn all aspects of the Management Information systems. Assist Quality Engineering in the development and preparation of Quality plans, sampling and inspection procedures for both automotive and non-automotive products, including PPAP, APQP, MSA, and other product specific documentation requirements as defined. Prepare and maintain material rejection database; coordinates and is responsible for verifying returned goods and ensuring proper disposition. Assist in the preparation of customer surveys and regulatory forms as applicable. These may include but not limited to, FDA, DOD, NAFTA, REACH, ROHS, ITAR, IMDS. Maintains all applicable Inspection, Quality and/or Management Information systems(M2M) records. May be required to obtain sufficient company knowledge in order to comply with this function: Calculate and maintain all quality Metrics and reports for distribution to both internal and external customers. Audit internal production documentation; lot control; shipping documentation/quantities; certifications. Maintain all electronic and hardcopy Quality System documentation. Be capable of qualifying and performing as an internal auditor to assist in the compliance with the company Quality Management System.
Additional Responsibilities:
Carries out other general responsibilities as required by the Quality Manager or site Management. Must have general knowledge of inspection techniques and equipment and possess basic inspection skills. May be required to perform daily inspection tasks for both receiving and final inspection, including sorting operations. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform these assigned tasks. Must have a basic understanding of Gage R&R studies. Participate and/or provide support for customer/registrar audits. Provide up front planning documentation in regard to the Quality function such as FMEA, Flow charts, and Control Plans. Assist in collecting and reporting data for process and product studies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic Understanding of quality management systems. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. (May be required to learn additional items) Have excellent writing ability. Able to Multi-task and be a team player.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree preferred, Minimum GED of High School diploma with 1-2 years quality administrative experience preferred. Must be well organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic inspection techniques and knowledge of inspection methods. Basic understanding of SPC. Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
