PAY :
This position pays $19.50 plus $1.00 shift differential
SHIFT:
2:45pm - 12:00am with some weekend work required; must be flexible
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for the quality, food safety and esthetics of the product. The QA Technician follows through on set processes and ensures adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for monitoring and programing critical control points (CCP) Responsible for monitoring food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other required areas Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and documentation Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met and followed during processing Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices Ensures and educates employees on food safety and SQF standards Collect product samples for Product Development, lab retains and the laboratory as directed Performs inspections on products, equipment and machinery The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive Performs other duties as assigned or requested
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will work in environment where safety precautions are required to be followed Protective gear such as gloves, work boots, and smocks required at all times Will work around moving machinery Will work in an environment where temperature ranges 0-50 degrees some work outside facility may be required Moderate to physical effort required Regularly required to walk, reach, bend and stand for long periods of time throughout the day Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Adequate computer skills necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Outlook). Possesses a working knowledge of sanitation operations; maintains knowledge of current and developing sanitation techniques.\Work will be split between a lab and production setting Work may be demanding at times and requires some flexibility in working hours. Must be able to work efficiently under high pressure and effectively resolve conflicts as they arise. Requires proficient typing skills and sufficient manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier, and such other office equipment as necessary. Working knowledge of HACCP. Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or zero to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
