Job Description

Summary:
The Tire Modeling Engineer role focuses on simulation and advanced modeling, while the Assistant Engineer role centers on material science, testing, and lab-based work. Assistant Engineer (Tire Rubber Compound/Material Testing) Maxxis International, the U.S. division of a global tire manufacturer headquartered in Suwanee, GA, has a challenging opportunity for an Assistant Engineer. This role will focus on Tire Rubber Compound/Material Testing at the Maxxis Technology Center. An Assistant Engineer must be detail oriented, organized and highly accurate, and use effective means for checking accuracy of information. Applicants that have a good business sense, are enthusiastic and reliable, and possess a strong work ethic should apply. Solid mechanical or electrical knowledge is a plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree OR currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in an engineering/chemistry related field AND one (1) year of rubber and/or tire industry or lab experience
Education Requirements:
Chemical Engineering Polymer Science / Polymer Engineering Chemistry Materials Science (polymer or rubber focus)
Core Responsibilities:
Support rubber and material compound testing and development Conduct laboratory-based testing and analysis Assist with experimentation and evaluation of materials
Required Skills & Experience:
Hands-on laboratory experience (academic or professional) Experience with polymer or rubber materials Material or compound testing experience Understanding of material properties and behavior
Responsibilities:
Conduct rubber compounding and tire material testing Collect, enter and analyze report data Perform routine equipment maintenance Problem solve and effectively communicate with other employees/customers Work with Microsoft Word documents and Excel spreadsheets Key Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with a team on dynamic projects Ability to collaborate with others to find creative solutions •Johnson Service Group (JSG) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
