Quality Inspector 2 Check-Mate Manufacturing Georgia

SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position is responsible for all aspects of the Inspection of metal forming production, fabrication shop, and assembly. The level 2 Inspector will be required to safely and efficiently execute assigned work in a timely manner, and meet quality standards and rates. Also expected to promote and conform to the company's regulations and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Includes, but may not be limited to the following Inspects in-process production metal stampings, fabrication, and/or assembly per assigned task. Assist in First Article Inspection utilizing conventional tools and Inspection Equipment (CMM, Keyence, others) Gage R&R studies for Launch and After Production ECRs are completed. Verify Inspection methods on new products. Documents actual findings utilizing a computer system. Performs visual inspection of welded, sanded, notched, and tumbled components per customer specifications and cosmetic requirements. Takes the appropriate action to report defects and works with teams to correct them. Maintain workflow with no or minimum interruptions. Function as an information source for other departments when critical quality issues arise. Promotes teamwork and willingness to help others. Performs set-up inspection and approval for Production Items. Assists in performing receiving inspections, to include verification of Certificates of Conformance for correctness; Verification of Certificates of Analysis for correct data, within specifications; performs inspections, based on provided check sheets. Performs inspections from only the Technical Drawings. Assists Engineering and Tool Shop with problem-solving functions, such as performing inspections of significant size and reporting findings accurately from inspections. Assists in SPC and Capability analysis to resolve issues and improve product quality. Utilization of Continuous Improvement tools is necessary to eliminate waste. Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED from an Accredited Institution of higher learning Three years of Quality Experience Able to utilize micrometers, calipers, drop gages, and dial indicators Able to use Optical Comparator and Digital Height Gage Can inspect parts using an "Open Setup" with no assistance Able to read and understand technical drawings (blueprints) for indicated dimensions Basic mathematical knowledge Able to lift up to 50 pounds Basic problem-solving using quality tools, critical thinking, and organization skills Language Skills
  • A bility to read, analyze, and technical procedures, personnel policies, graphs, and other production documents.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior leaders, departmental managers, and directors. Work Environment The employee is occasionally exposed to conditions such as dirt, grease, and oil, and will work on the manufacturing floor and quality lab. The employee will work in a manufacturing environment. Physical Demands

Employees may be exposed to loud noise while on the manufacturing floor. Hearing Protection is required. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 20 pounds on a daily basis.
