Job Description

Quality Control / Quality Assurance Specialist Metal Design Systems, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control / Quality Assurance Specialist to support quality throughout our design, programming, and production processes. This role is responsible for reviewing drawings, models, programming outputs, and fabricated products to help ensure work is accurate, manufacturable, installable, and aligned with customer expectations and MDSI quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and comfortable working across multiple departments to identify issues, communicate feedback, and support continuous improvement. Candidates should have 3-7+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, quality control, or a related industry. What You'll Do Review shop drawings, 3D models, programming outputs, and nested sheets for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and installability. Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated products. Verify finished products against approved drawings, specifications, and internal quality standards. Identify, document, and communicate quality concerns or non-conforming materials. Work with Design, Programming, Project Management, and Production teams to resolve quality issues. Support root cause analysis, corrective action efforts, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S initiatives. Help reduce rework, scrap, recurring defects, and production inefficiencies. What We're Looking For 3-7+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, quality control, or a related industry. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, technical drawings, or 3D models. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Experience with measurement and inspection tools. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, root cause analysis, or continuous improvement methods preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
