Quality Assurance Specialist Maverick Tech Ankeny, IA Job Details Full-time $15.20 - $22.00 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Computer operation Visual color comparison Mechanical drawings Math Computer skills Full Job Description About the Role As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining manufacturing excellence by verifying that all products meet rigorous quality standards and customer specifications. You will collaborate with production teams to identify process improvements, support corrective actions, and ensure consistent output through precise inspection and documentation. Responsibilities Perform visual, dimensional, and color inspections to ensure adherence to established control plans and quality procedures. Verify product traceability and label accuracy to maintain compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. Monitor production processes and machine setups to proactively prevent defects and uphold a Zero Defects standard. Document audit findings, manage non-conforming product holds, and communicate results to leadership to drive continuous improvement. Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers to validate product characteristics. Participate in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability studies to optimize manufacturing consistency. Qualifications Required Skills Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and operating manuals. Strong mathematical aptitude for calculating proportions, percentages, and dimensions. Proficiency with quality control software and basic computer applications. Must pass a standard color vision test to ensure accurate product assessment. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Preferred Skills Prior experience in a manufacturing environment following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
