Job Title:
Quality Assurance TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will utilize lab equipment to test finished products and components, ensuring they meet specified parameters. Your work will contribute significantly to our production, packaging, and warehousing functions. Responsibilities
+ Perform multiple process checks throughout production, packaging, and warehousing.
+ Set up and calibrate HPLC and GC testing equipment.
+ Receive, document, and enter batch testing results into specified systems.
+ Analyze and report quality results to supervisors and managers.
+ Conduct physical property testing using various instruments.
+ Provide independent oversight of lab processes, verifying compliance with company standards and policies. Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Chemistry, HPLC, GC, GMP, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control.
+ Experience with biochemical processes, pipetting, and dilutions.
+ A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life science field is highly preferred.
+ Alternatively, 6 months or more of experience in a production or quality lab setting.
+ High School diploma required. Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with HPLC/GC is required.
+ Strong communication skills for effective interaction with operations, leadership, and plant management. Work Environment This position operates in a manufacturing/plant setting with a dynamic lab environment. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 1st shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with some Saturday coverage and overtime required during peak season (March-May). The role involves working around moving mechanical parts in conditions that may include wet or humid environments, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals, and outdoor weather while walking between buildings. Training will be conducted on the 1st shift for one month before transitioning to the assigned shift. The quality department operates across all three shifts, and there is a significant investment in revamping the quality lab. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, frequent use of hands to handle tools and materials, and the occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Candidates must have strong visual acuity. The dress code includes a company-provided navy jumpsuit uniform and closed-toe shoes. The site has experienced immense growth over the last five years, adding multiple buildings and fostering a family-like culture despite being a national company. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
