Job Description
BUILDING ON ACCURACY
We're looking for a dedicated individual that enjoys a "hands-on" career in the construction industry. This job is ideal for a candidate that enjoys a fast-paced work environment at construction sites throughout Southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois. Our candidate should value and recognize the importance of detailed construction documentation and testing accuracy, and the importance they play during construction phases of every project. Work days will be split between working outside in the field, and performing laboratory tests in the office. This position is for an experienced technician capable of providing technical services for specific work assignments on small to medium size projects. The individual is expected to perform routine and moderate complexity tasks with limited instructions or guidance and may coordinate less experienced technicians.Responsibilities:
Project Leadership (Small/Medium): Act as the lead technician on designated small to medium-sized projects, performing construction observation and materials testing independently.Coordination:
Coordinate with other less experienced technicians (T1-T3) regarding schedules and testing procedures. Communicate thoroughly with fellow staff members, construction crews, and client representatives.Technical Proficiency:
Perform testing of construction materials (concrete, soil, aggregate) at construction sites and in the laboratory according to industry standards.Documentation:
Exhibit excellent documentation skills; utilize scheduling programs and document management systems used on construction projects.Equipment:
Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, calibrations, and safe working condition of equipment.Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 7-10+ years of technical experience and/or a combination of technical coursework and experience. A high school diploma or Associate's degree in a technical field.Certifications:
Advanced NICET, ACI, and/or DOT certifications are strongly desired. Due to job requirements, candidates must be capable of lifting up to 80 lbs, walking at least 5 miles daily, and working in varying weather conditions.Salary Range:
$26/hr - $38/hr All salary ranges are typical to industry standards and based upon individual candidate experience.Perks:
