Role Description The Feed Quality Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Grimes, IA, responsible for supporting the quality and safety of feed products. This role includes performing routine quality control tests on raw materials and finished feed, documenting test results, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. The technician will assist with sampling procedures, calibration and basic maintenance of laboratory and testing equipment, and monitoring environmental and process parameters related to feed quality. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve supporting quality audits, identifying deviations, collaborating with production and quality teams to investigate issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The Feed Quality Technician will maintain accurate records, follow standardized operating procedures, and actively participate in safety and quality training. Qualifications Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills to test feed materials, monitor process parameters, and verify adherence to internal and external standards. Quality Auditing and Quality Management capabilities to support audits, document findings, and participate in corrective and preventive action activities. Strong Analytical Skills to interpret test data, identify trends or deviations, and communicate clear, data-driven insights to colleagues. Attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate record-keeping, sample tracking, and adherence to standardized operating procedures. Basic understanding of feed manufacturing, animal nutrition, or related agricultural or food production processes is beneficial. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with production, quality, and technical staff. Comfort with using laboratory instruments, measurement tools, and computer systems for data entry and reporting. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in animal science, food science, agriculture, or a related technical field is preferred.
