Full-Time $19.80 - $27.30 per year

Summary:

The Quality Technician I is responsible for performing timely quality checks on raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products. This includes inspection, laboratory analysis, organoleptic evaluation, and verification of packaging quality to ensure product consistency and compliance with food safety standards. Functions Of The Position. Conducts analysis on processing and packaging goods, including visual inspection, organoleptic evaluation, weight, size, mix, moisture, water activity, and salt testing. Tests packaging integrity and quality (oxygen, vacuum, leaker, quantity, weight) Verifies product type, label accuracy, date codes, lids, and over-cap color Conducts metal detector compliance testing, ATP testing for sanitation verification, and pre-operational inspections of packaging lines Enters analytical data, product holds, and equipment checkout information. Prepares samples for analysis in coordination with the R D laboratory. Places products on hold when results fall outside specification. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Food quality experience required. Skills and Competencies Ability to taste snack products and nut varieties. Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping. Basic math proficiency. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods. Ability to operate calculators, analytical scales, salt/moisture/oxygen analyzers, water activity meters, and color meters. Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
